Animation Updates 9/29/2025

My update for this week was a little slow but our animation shots have progressed a little. While our project director has one scene with a dialogue, I acquired two shots where that also include lip sync. This is the progress on the blocking of those shots. We also have our future shots setup for the rest of the semester. In fact we planned the rest of our expected deliveries for the next month.

Updates to Animation and Beyond

As time has now gone by, my modeling for the Superhero Costume is close to its finish.      Now at this point there are two things I'm doing to complete this model. Making adjustments according to the Director's notes. Making the outfit as bulky as possible. The other thing is modeling the smaller things on the outfit, that includes the tie, the boot straps, the buckles, and the coat buttons.        In a way this part feels harder because I'm moving on from general shaping and starting to go deeper in the design, shaping it out vertex by vertex. What makes this complicated is trying to keep all the model pieces in quads. Our teacher, Raymond Wong, tells us this is most important in modeling especially in smoothing. Otherwise, anything like a triangle or other confuses the webbing of the model, something resulting in sharp edges. I had to be real clever with this, especially when modeling the boots because of its diagonal attachments. To do it aga...

Intro to me and the Project

One of our main characters in this animated shot is a mysterious superhero with this outfit and I am in charge of the 3D modeling for this. At first, our outfit included a scarf, which made a fun challenge for me to make. This is as far as I got with that before the change. Since the change, things weren't necessarily easier but sure different and good. What I thought was interesting was modeling out the collar and the foldouts in the vest and coat. As you can see I made plane models, shaped them out and attached to the clothes when it was ready. This is as far as I've gotten.
