Updates to Animation and Beyond

As time has now gone by, my modeling for the Superhero Costume is close to its finish.

Now at this point there are two things I'm doing to complete this model. Making adjustments according to the Director's notes. Making the outfit as bulky as possible. The other thing is modeling the smaller things on the outfit, that includes the tie, the boot straps, the buckles, and the coat buttons.

In a way this part feels harder because I'm moving on from general shaping and starting to go deeper in the design, shaping it out vertex by vertex. What makes this complicated is trying to keep all the model pieces in quads. Our teacher, Raymond Wong, tells us this is most important in modeling especially in smoothing. Otherwise, anything like a triangle or other confuses the webbing of the model, something resulting in sharp edges. I had to be real clever with this, especially when modeling the boots because of its diagonal attachments. To do it again on the second boot, I had to be sure it was done the way I had it already.

Animation Test
Just a few days ago, the director and I have finally started to test our new character rigs for animation. With the advice of Todd Elliot, our test is set in a few dialogue shots, so we're also testing our rigs for lip sync as well. At this point we are "blocking" the animation.

Apparently our testing the rigs were not without notes, especially with the daughter rig freshly made. The shoulders needed adjustments, and the mouth piece didn't include teeth and the tongue yet.

Currently we are in the process of fixing that.
