UV Resolutions, new models, and New animations to come

Thanks with the help of my colleague EJ, and classmate's mentor, Michele, I was able to find resolutions to UV'ing the superhero model. It's been a while since I've used the UV tools and I newly approached unfolding these pieces using the planar, cylindrical, and spherical tools to unfold the UV shells of the stubborn pieces.

On that note, I also found the error in the boots and it fixed everything. It was an extra vertex that created a rogue triangle pointing inward and inside the right boot. With this, I was able to unfold and optimize the pieces as much as I wanted. Funnily enough though, optimizing the top pieces was more problematic as these pieces kept wanting to wind up. I can understand why because of the middle/smaller part of the piece, as many other UV shells of that constuction do the same thing. For this one, I resolved it using the clylindrical tool.

As for the other stubborn piece, the vest I followed Michele's advice in attempting to smoothen the edges more. I managed to make that work using the tools I mentioned earlier, resulting in the new belt and the top main body UVs. The only piece I wasn't able to smoothen out was the inner collar of the vest, even with the other tools. I mentioned in previous posts how this vest wants to tear itself apart to fix its non-manifold error. I still don't understand why it would do that but I've working "around" that since.

This was also part of Michele's advice in cutting up the coat well, smoothing out the edges and filling up as much space as possible in the square. Of course I wanted to make sure the UV shells didn't interfere with one another as well.

One new asset I've provided for this production is a Band-aid that we're using on the daughter's finger. This was originally modeled on the daughter mesh but then we realized we have film shots where the band-aid is loose first. So we've come up with a new plan to model it as a new asset and later, we'll rig it onto the daughter in the other shots.
